It's October, let's talk about creatures of the Night.

I'll start with my favorite...Vampires

People ask me; Roz, why Vampires?

Why not? Vampires are one of my favorite, Creatures of the Night, and I think they are sexy as hell!

Ok, the whole undead thing might be creepy, but who said they have to be labeled this way. It’s not we are talking about zombie love here. *shudders*

In fact most Romance authors who write about vampires make them perfect specimens of manhood. As well they should. No one wants to read about dead sex. They want hot, steamy, and above all else, live action.

My vampires, for example, are all immortal but not undead. They have beating hearts. How else would blood circulate down to those…ahem… neither regions? =p

So let’s focus on the good stuff, shall we?

Vampires are Immortal – eternally preserved in the state of perfection they were in when turned. Mmmmm, sounds yummy, am I right?

So what we have is a very handsome man, with chiseled features. A broad chest, tone physique, strong muscular arms, with a smile and eyes that can bring you to your knees. I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t mind that kind of man sucking on my neck.

And if that weren’t enough … They are also, the ultimate bad boy.

You know the cliché. Your mom told you to stay away from them, but you just can’t.

They are dark, dangerous, and mysterious. They bring with them a spine chilling sense of danger while at the same time, promising nights of unending pleasure.

Yes ladies, that’s right. They know how to please, especially when they have been around for a few hundred years. Practice makes perfect. They know exactly what you need and how hard you need it and… they can go all night. ;p

So instead of asking, why vampires, ask yourself, why not?

And if you need more convincing, try a few of these authors on for size. They will give you plenty of Sexy Vampire action.

Lara Adrian

J. R. Ward

Christine Feehan

Laurell K. Hamilton

And now a question for the readers. What is your favorite vampire story/author?

Kathy Love (who *ahem* happens to be a Maryland native like moi) gives good vamp, too. She's Kensington, I b'lve :)

If all vamps looked like the one on Moonlight or Blood Ties, they would soon get labeled as sexy devils. There are a lot of different takes on vampires, which makes them even more interesting. I'm looking forward to reading yours, Roz! :)

Smut Girl - Ha ha ha, what a perfect verification word. Yes Vamps have great teeth. LoL.

Sarah - Moonlight, Dracula 2000, Queen of the damned, Blood Ties, and True Blood all have one thing in common; really sexy vampire men. *Drool*

Sarah Colter said...

Roz - All those shows had drop-dead beautiful men! Also, Interview With a Vampire, which had 3 hotties. :) I haven't seen True Blood, yet. I have to sit down and watch an episode or two! :)

True Blood has some hot guys. Some vampires some mortal and some shapeshifters. Very yummy. Oh and lots of Sex. It's on HBO so it's almost porno at times. LoL

It sounds great! :) I have HBO & HBO ON DEMAND. It's probably on there, so I could sit and watch all the episodes. :)

I love the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. It's probably one of my fave vampire ones (I'm half in love with Eric!). Hence why I have a problem with True Blood. The characters (comedians) don't look anything like the ones I've created in my head for years. So I can't watch it. I've tried but nope, never gonna happen. And Eric's hotter than that, damn it! :p

One of the other vampire series I enjoy is the one by PC Cast (mother/daughter duo). It's YA but it's really, really good.

And of course, the Anita Blake series. So glad she's back on form! (I like sex but not on every page :)

Who else? Uhmmm.

Great blog, Roz, by the way!

The HBO movie "Vampires" with James Wood. And "The Lost Boys"

Vampirism is sexual to the max (they always eat you) right?

Roz: Oh, I love Charlaine Harris' books! So it's Sookie Stackhouse! Now I know I'll have to watch at least one episode! I like Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake series, too!

Secretia: I *love* James Woods' Vampires. I thought the priest was hot. The sequel that Bon Jovi was on was even hotter. :)

I had a verification phrase today of "devoted evildoer"

Hells Ya!!

I love all things vampire - Tate Hallaway does a fun wiccan, vampire, zombie mixture with a chick lit feel to it. Love her stuff.

Also Mary Janice Davidson writes a fun story

Em - I also can't watch True Blood but because they are messing with the story too much.

Eric is way yummy - I've read the book where he loses his memory about three times.

Great post Roz.

Jenna - I know! (spoilers ahead)

I watched the first episode of True Blood and went "Hold on a sec. Since when did Sookie become X-rated?" That and Tara being her best friend and...yeah, sorry, Eric is supposed to be hotter than that.
And lol at you having read the one where he loses his memory more than once. Same here!! It's my favorite one. I was glad to see he was back in the latest one. I need my dose of Eric!

Actually, it's the same with Janet Evanovich's series. I always need my fix of Ranger *grins*

I you haven't read any of Raven Hart's Savannah Vampires series, I highly recommend them. I love Jack in these books. How can you not love a Southern hottie who sleeps in a coffin painted up like Dale Earnhardt's car?

Rozlyn Sparks said...

Em - I have the reverse problem. I watched True Blood before I started reading the series. Now I can't get into the series. Where is all the sex?

Secretia - I love lost boys...both movies.

Sarah - I need to read the Anita Blake series. I've heard good things about it.

Jenna - Great verification word.

Daelith - Thanks for the series suggestion. I am always looking for new books to add to the collection.

Just found your blog sorry to comment so late on this post.

I love Laurell K. Hamilton! A friend recently introduced her Anita Blake series to me and I am in love! I do however find Richard to be a whiner!

As far as vamp movies go my all time favorite is Bram Stokers Dracula. I find it to be a wonderful romance story. That by the way makes little sense to most of my friends and family.

I look forward to reading your blog more in the future.

Umm, number one favorite vamp book would have to be 'Salem's Lot by King, second would be Interview with the Vampire by Rice, and third would be Dracula by Stoker.

Movies goes in a very similar order. 'Salem's Lot (2004 remake), Dracula 2000 (not it's sequels though), Interview with the Vampire, Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Lost Boys (both), and Forsaken.

I apologize for commenting on this so late.
